Living Comparison

Introduction:

Every country has its own unique way of living. Each one has their own cultures, beliefs, traditions, perspectives in life. The community and weather in both countries are very different, that is what we will start our main comparisons with.

Community:

In London’s community, the way of living there is more individualistic than revolved around being closer with the family. It’s more outgoing and most people think for their own self more than thinking about the family, or caring for their selves more than families. Friends are closer and have greater bonds between each other than family members.

On the other hand, the community life in Saudi Arabia mainly revolves around being closer with the family and have greater bonds between each other. They care for families more than their selves. Friends are treated as colleagues here, nothing more.

Weather:

London has a better and healthier environment to live in. Every season acts as their own individualistic perspective and noticing the difference between a season and another.

Saudi Arabia has a unique environment as well. The  weather here is mostly hot in general, but when winter comes, it chills us to the bone although the temperatures aren’t below the ones in London.

Health care:

People living in London get free health care to the extent of receiving a refund if they came to the hospital by a taxi. People living in Riyadh however, don’t have a free health care. They have to pay the hospitals for their visits or pay their insurance company their subscription. Health care in London has better quality than Riyadh in terms of services, dependability of the doctors and follow ups. Another point out is that people living in London don’t have to pay for their medicine in pharmacies (they don’t even have a cash register) while people living in Riyadh have to.

Cost of Living:

In London, rent is very high while in Riyadh it is moderate. People in London have to pay taxes one way or another depending on their citizenship status (British, foreign worker, student) on their salary, their own houses and even on the things they buy. However people in Riyadh don’t have to pay taxes in anything except the custom tariff if they import good which a really small amount. Also, every day commodities in London are very expensive compared to the everyday commodities in Riyadh.

Lifestyle:

Talking about the life style of London and KSA. All sorts of concepts are different. London is a completely open country where anything and everything can happen where as KSA is a country followed by Islamic rules and regulations. London is a country where men and women have equal rights. In London it is very common in most families that both the mother and father are employed while their children are at school or a day care facility. Once the child graduates high school, he or she starts to live an independent life. Life in KSA is completely vice versa. Women here don’t have equal rights as men do. KSA is a country where women lack freedom. Women are not even allowed to drive in KSA. Unlike London, it is not mandatory that both husband and wife work. Schools and colleges are completely separated. In a country like London, parents of an adult are not considered dependents or part of his/her immediate family. Going out for a walk is very popular amongst them. People in KSA basically sit back home and spend time with family after a long day at work. In a country like KSA, people usually hold hands or wrap the hand around a best friend shoulder, never do that in London, you will be considered gay. Also, until you have an intimate relationship you should keep your distance even from the people of the opposite sex. People in London usually work five days a week and on weekends they spend half their pay either in a movie theatre, the club and drinking or a football match. Activities such as drinking, clubbing and others are a sin in the Islamic religion and therefore is unavailable in KSA. People here usually on weekends, visit a friend or relatives and hangout late nights at sheesha parlours.

Education:

Schools, colleges and universities in London has the world most excellent education available. They even have numerous other activities that might help children solve other problems in the society. And more over all their institutions are co-educated. Standard of education in KSA is moderate. Most of the schools are Arabic, and thus majority of the people can barely speak some English. Schools are separated. But the good thing is that children receive education for free in government schools and colleges, such is unavailable in London.

Conclusion:

The way of living in London is individualistic where as life in Saudi Arabia mainly revolves around being closer with the family. Every season in London acts as their own individualistic perspective but in KSA it is generally hot but when winter comes, it chills us to the bone although the temperatures aren’t below the ones in London. Health care in London has better quality than Riyadh in terms of services, dependability of the doctors and follow ups. People in London have to pay taxes one way or another depending on their citizenship status but people in Riyadh don’t have to pay taxes in anything except the custom tariff if they import good which a really small amount. London holds a completely open environment and community, where as in KSA it is the complete opposite. Children in London are far more advanced den the children in KSA, it is only due to their excellent education standard which is unavailable in KSA.
